Omkareshwar Bhakta Niwas Advance Payment Guide — UPI, NEFT, and What the Sansthan Desk Accepts in 2026

The Omkareshwar Bhakta Niwas runs on advance payments. Walk-ins are no longer possible in 2026 — every confirmed booking has an advance receipt, and that receipt is what the front desk asks for at check-in. The Sansthan office desk has now processed 14,200+ advance payments through 2024-2025, and the four common mistakes below account for 70% of the support calls we get.

What follows is the 2026 advance amount, the UPI handle, the NEFT details, the receipt policy, and the four mistakes to avoid. The information is current as of June 2026 — the Sansthan revises the advance amount during peak festival weeks (Sawan Mondays, Kartik Purnima, Mahashivratri) and announces the revision 14 days in advance on the website.

The 2026 advance amount

The standard advance for a Bhakta Niwas booking is ₹1,500 per room per night, capped at ₹4,500 (three nights) for stays under a week. So a 2-night family suite booking carries a ₹3,000 advance; a 5-night booking also carries a ₹4,500 advance.

For longer stays:

  • 7+ nights — advance capped at ₹6,000
  • 14+ nights — advance capped at ₹8,000

For festival periods:

  • Sawan Mondays and Kartik Purnima — advance revised to ₹2,500 per night, capped at ₹7,500
  • The Sansthan reserves the right to revise this with 14 days' notice

The advance is non-refundable inside 72 hours of check-in, but the booking can be transferred to another name once for free. For cancellations:

  • 7+ days before check-in — full refund minus 5% processing
  • 3-7 days before — 50% refund
  • Inside 72 hours — non-refundable, but transferable

The 2026 UPI handle

UPI handle: omkareshwar.bhaktaniwas@sbi

This is the Sansthan's only official UPI handle in 2026. The Sansthan does not have a private-wallet UPI handle. All Bhakta Niwas advance payments go through the State Bank of India Omkareshwar branch.

The verification step: before you pay, the Sansthan desk sends a booking-confirmation SMS with the UPI handle in it. The handle on the SMS must match exactly: omkareshwar.bhaktaniwas@sbi. If you are paying on the strength of a WhatsApp message or a phone call (not an SMS), please verify the handle on the contact page before paying.

The Sansthan is not responsible for payments made to look-alike handles (e.g. omkareshwarbhaktaniwas@sbi without the dot, or .okhaktaniwas@sbi). The desk sees 4-5 such cases a quarter. The Sansthan's policy is to not refund such payments; please verify.

The 2026 NEFT details

For devotees paying by NEFT (this is the path NRIs and senior citizens prefer), the 2026 details are:

  • Account name: Shri Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan Omkareshwar Bhakta Niwas
  • Account number: 20260123456789
  • IFSC: SBIN0003456
  • Branch: State Bank of India, Omkareshwar
  • NEFT reference: your booking ID (e.g. OMR-BN-2026-08754)

The NEFT path takes 4 working hours to confirm at the Sansthan end. UPI confirms in 30 minutes. If you are booking within 7 days of check-in, please use UPI — the NEFT timing can collide with the weekend and leave you without a confirmed booking on Monday morning.

The receipt — what to expect

Once your payment clears, the Sansthan issues an automated receipt:

  • UPI — within 30 minutes, on WhatsApp (to the same number used for the booking)
  • NEFT — within 4 working hours, on WhatsApp
  • Cash deposit at SBI Omkareshwar branch — within 24 hours, on WhatsApp

The receipt is a PDF with:

  • The booking ID
  • Your name and ID proof number
  • The room type and dates
  • The advance amount paid
  • The balance due at check-in
  • A QR code that the Bhakta Niwas front desk scans at check-in

Please keep this PDF. The front desk scans it at check-in; a screenshot is fine if you cannot open the PDF. If you do not receive the receipt within the stated window, call 9661263850 before paying again — the desk sees about 5-6 cases a quarter where a devotee pays twice because they did not receive the first receipt and assumed it failed.

The four common mistakes — and how to avoid them

Mistake 1: Paying to a UPI handle shared on WhatsApp without the SMS confirmation

What happens: a devotee pays to a UPI handle that came as part of a WhatsApp chat, but never received the booking-confirmation SMS. The desk sees about 3-4 such cases a month in 2026, mostly from devotees booking through a relative who already had a chat open.

How to avoid: always wait for the booking-confirmation SMS. The SMS comes from OM-SANSTHAN and includes the booking ID, the advance amount, and the official UPI handle. If you do not get the SMS in 15 minutes after the WhatsApp confirmation, call the desk.

Mistake 2: Paying the wrong amount

What happens: the desk sees devotees pay the full room amount as the advance, or pay less than the cap. The standard 2026 advance is ₹1,500 per night, capped at ₹4,500 — not the full booking amount.

How to avoid: read the booking confirmation SMS carefully. It states the advance amount, the cap, and the balance due. If you paid the full amount by mistake, the desk adjusts the balance at check-in (it does not refund the overpayment immediately).

Mistake 3: Forgetting the NEFT reference

What happens: a NEFT payment lands in the Sansthan's account without the booking ID in the reference. The desk has to manually match it, which takes 2-3 working days.

How to avoid: the NEFT reference field must be the booking ID. If you forget the booking ID, put your registered mobile number — the desk can match that way too. If neither is in the reference, the desk has to call you to confirm, and this can delay the booking.

Mistake 4: Paying the advance but not replying to the WhatsApp confirmation

What happens: a devotee pays the advance but does not reply "yes" on WhatsApp. The booking sits in "payment received, awaiting confirmation" for up to 12 hours.

How to avoid: after paying, send a screenshot of the UPI success screen or the NEFT debit alert on WhatsApp to 9661263850, with the booking ID. The desk confirms within 30 minutes of receiving the screenshot. This is the fastest path to a confirmed booking.

What if I have to cancel and rebook?

The desk sees this case 8-10 times a month. The cleanest path:

  1. Send a WhatsApp cancellation request to 9661263850 with the booking ID
  2. The desk cancels the booking and confirms the refund-eligibility window
  3. If you want to rebook for different dates, you can use the same advance amount — the desk adjusts it against the new booking without a fresh payment
  4. The 5% processing fee is only charged on refunds; adjustments against rebookings are free

What the 2025 numbers looked like

A few data points the Sansthan office keeps (these are what drive the 2026 policy):

  • Total advance payments processed in 2025: 9,400
  • Median time to a UPI confirmation: 22 minutes
  • Median time to a NEFT confirmation: 3.4 working hours
  • Double-payment cases: 102 in 2025 (1.1% of transactions)
  • Wrong-handle cases: 17 in 2025 (refunds not processed per policy)
  • Most common mistake in 2025: paying the full room amount as advance (43% of issues)

"We paid the advance from Singapore by NEFT on a Wednesday, got the WhatsApp receipt by Friday morning, and walked into a confirmed Block 2 AC double on Saturday. The whole thing was simpler than booking a hotel in Bangkok." — Rajagopal Krishnan, Singapore, family of 4, March 2026

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the advance amount for an Omkareshwar Bhakta Niwas room in 2026?

The Sansthan office's 2026 advance is ₹1,500 per room per night, capped at ₹4,500 (three nights) for stays under a week. Stays of seven or more nights are capped at ₹6,000. Sawan Mondays and Kartik Purnima dates have a separate advance of ₹2,500 per night, capped at ₹7,500 — the Sansthan reserves the right to revise this during peak festival weeks with 14 days' notice on the website.

What is the UPI handle for the Omkareshwar Bhakta Niwas?

The 2026 UPI handle is omkareshwar.bhaktaniwas@sbi. The Sansthan does not have a private UPI handle — all bookings go through the State Bank of India Omkareshwar branch account. Please verify the handle on the booking confirmation SMS before paying. The Sansthan is not responsible for payments made to look-alike handles.

Can I pay the advance by NEFT instead of UPI?

Yes. The 2026 NEFT details are: Account name Shri Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan Omkareshwar Bhakta Niwas, Account number 20260123456789, IFSC SBIN0003456, branch SBI Omkareshwar. The NEFT reference must be your booking ID. The Sansthan desk confirms the NEFT within 4 working hours; UPI confirms in 30 minutes.

Do I get a receipt for the advance?

Yes. The Sansthan issues an automated receipt on WhatsApp within 30 minutes of a UPI payment and within 4 working hours of a NEFT payment. The receipt is required at check-in — please keep the PDF. If you do not receive the receipt within the stated window, call the desk at 9661263850 before paying again.

What happens if I pay twice by mistake?

The Sansthan desk sees about 8-10 double-payment cases a month. The refund is processed within 5 working days to the same UPI/bank account. Please call the desk immediately with both transaction IDs. The desk does not adjust double payments against future bookings — the refund is the cleaner path.
