How to Reach Shegaon: Train & Bus Guide from Every Major City

Shegaon sits on the Nagpur–Bhusaval railway line in the Buldhana district of Maharashtra, at a convenient point for road and rail travel from Vidarbha and parts of central India. It is not a large junction, but it receives enough trains that most major cities — Nagpur, Mumbai, Pune, Akola, Amravati, Wardha — can reach it in a single direct journey. Shegaon's location and connectivity

Shegaon is on the Howrah–Nagpur–Mumbai line, which means it sits on one of the busiest rail corridors in central India. The station code is SEG. Most trains that run between Nagpur and Bhusaval/Akola stop at Shegaon, which gives you a wide choice of timings without needing to change trains. By road, the town is connected to Khamgaon (12 km), Balapur (18 km), Akola (75 km), and Nagpur (about 110–115 km).

From Nagpur

Arrival at Shegaon station

Shegaon station (SEG) is a small but functional station. When you arrive:

• Shared rickshaws: Available at the station entrance for the short ride to the Sansthan campus (typically ₹20–₹50 per person).
• Sansthan shuttle: The Sansthan runs a free shuttle bus between the station and the mandir campus at regular intervals, especially during festivals.
• Auto-rickshaw: Local autos are available and will take you to the mandir, the Bhakta Niwas, or the Anand Sagar entrance.

The station to temple distance is about 1.5 km. The walk is short but can be uncomfortable in summer heat; use a rickshaw if arriving during the day in peak summer.

Travel tips

Best travel season: October to February is ideal — comfortable temperatures, dry roads, good train punctuality. The summer (April to June) is extremely hot, and the monsoon (July to September) brings flooding to some rural roads.

Traveling with family: Book the AC coach for train travel. For bus travel, the MSRTC Volvo services are the most comfortable. If you are traveling with children or elderly family members, a direct train from Nagpur is the least stressful option.
